A Little Impromptu Mother’s Day Shoot at Home

Sometimes the best photos aren’t planned at all. Right in the middle of the day today, our living room turned into a photo studio 😂 Shoes getting kicked around, kids cleaning up socks, hallway lights getting turned off, babies looking everywhere except the camera… and somehow we still made magic happen. No big production. Just my Canon R5, the RF 28-70mm f/2, a Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT with a MagSphere on it fired with the Canon ST-E3-RT transmitter, and a whole lot of family chaos.

Honestly, these are the moments I’ll probably treasure the most.

Watching the kids pile all over their mama, hearing everybody laugh, trying to get everyone looking in the same direction for half a second… it was loud, imperfect, and real.

I’m incredibly thankful for Chelsea and everything she pours into our family every single day. The love, patience, sacrifice, encouragement, and strength she carries for our kids doesn’t go unnoticed. Also, a special shoutout to my mom, Brenda, who I dearly love. Thank you for raising us with faith, love, strength, and consistency. Thank you for always showing up for your family and for being the kind of mother and grandmother that keeps everybody grounded. Love you, Mom. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there doing the unseen work every day. Y’all are truly the heart of the home.
